Hi! My name is Samson Densmore and I am from Ankeny, Iowa. I live with my amazing parents and little brother, while I have two other siblings that are now out of the house. My older sister is teaching English in France, and my older brother is a State Trooper who has started a family. They have been huge role models to me growing up. Finally, I have a little brother who is adopted from Ethiopia. He has been such a blessing to our family, and I had no idea about the tremendous impact he would have on my growth as a person. He has led me to my love for helping kids, and I hope that when I get back from the World Race, I can pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

Most importantly, I am a Christian. God has always been a part of my life since I was young. My parents would take me to church every Sunday with the family, even though for a lot of my childhood, I played with Star Wars action figures during the sermon (I mean...Star Wars, you can't blame me). I have had my ups and downs in my faith, and I have put God on the side at times; however, I have reached the point where I know God’s way in the best way, and there is no other path I would rather take. Because of what he has done for me, I hope to give back to him and make a difference in the lives of others.

The reason I am joining the World Race is because I have been on mission trips in the past: Honduras twice and New York City. I found a joy in doing God’s work and a centered purpose around serving others. I love to be able to show God’s love to others and I want to be able to leave an impact on the people I meet. I know that God did not put me on this Earth for my own selfish desires, but rather to spread the word of Him and represent his son Jesus through my actions.
